Baby Girl = a sweet 12 year old who suffered from chronic ear infections

Previous cultures were submitted & treated appropriately however the infection would improve for a short time & then recur

Due to severity of infection, swelling, & bleeding it was difficult to see the ear polyp in the ear canal without sedation.

Video otoscopy was performed with an oto-pet MedRX unit allowed full visualization of the ear canal & aural polyp. Our Aesculight CO2 laser unit was equipped with a 180mm X 0.8mm metal laser tip which facilitated the laser ablation of the polyp.

How do we achieve a BLOODLESS incision?
By contraction of collagen on the endothelial wall of blood vessel !

How does Laser REDUCE PAIN?
By sealing nerve endings !

How does Laser REDUCE SWELLING?
By sealing lymphatics !

Laser is so precise it can selectively remove a few tissue cells at a time. It is also powerful enough to de-bulk entire tumors. It is used to make unique bloodless laser incisions, as well as “erase” unhealthy tissue without excessive loss of unavoidable in conventional scalpel surgery. @aesculight_lasers

Minimized : Laser seals small blood vessels. Reduced bleeding enables new procedures which are not practical or even possible with a scalpel, ie: tumors & lesions in the throat surgery, & nasal hyperkeratosis treatment. Better visualization allows us to cut more precisely, avoiding unnecessary trauma to healthy surrounding tissues. In addition, some procedures do not require sutures

Excellent visibility allows us to complete the surgery faster. Short procedures reduce the anesthesia risks. Better visibility also ensures better esthetic result.

Less Pain: The laser beam seals nerve endings & lymphatics, resulting in less post-op swelling & pain. Pets experience a more comfortable post-op recovery.

Reduced risk of infection: Sanitizing effect is one of the unique features of the laser beam. It efficiently destroys in its path (sanitizing effect). Laser surgery is performed in a non-contact mode, the laser tip doesn’t touch the tissue during surgery, which minimizes risk of infection.
